Forward... Into the Past

Looking back through the sweet-smelling smoke of Time, to 1967, the Summer of Love, on Alternative FM radio from Los Angeles, there emerged four or five crazee guys who blew the minds of millions. The Firesign Theater had invented their own form of audio comedy -- intelligent, irreverent, intense, interesting, illicit, and intense.

Through many years, and many presidents, the firesign has been there with its unique combination of guerilla audio theater -- fast paced, topical, and surreal. We are proud to feature many Firesign recordings in The Lodestone Catalog.

The Firesign fourth featuring the future faire. Take your chances, and break the president at the future faire -- a faire for everybody, and no fair for anybody. Produced in 1971, this album amazingly anticipates today's internet culture, hackers, and a world grown dependent on computers.

How Can You Be in Two Places at Once (When You're Not Anywhere At All)
This is their legendary second album, part of the Firesign canon, and the one which unleashed Nick Danger and Ralph Spoilsport upon the world. Originally released in 1968, this album was many people's first exposure to the Firesign Theatre. If you've got an old copy on vinyl, you need the CD. If you don't have a copy, then you REALLY need a copy.

Everything You Know is Wrong (VHS)
Firesign on Video -- this is the strange and surreal video version of their 1975 album of the same name. Although the Firesign has always been before their time, this album is perhaps their most prophetic -- parodying today's New Age culture years before that culture emerged into mass culture. Directed by Oscar-winning cinematographer Allen Daviau. The comet is coming folks, so knock back a Bear Whiz Beer, and take a jump into the hole in the earth.
