Comedy

As long as there's been audio theater, there's been comedy audio theater. Indeed, it is probable that the first piece of audio theater ever made was comedy. Why is this important? Well, it isn't. But we had to say something here.

Seriously, folks, we've got some seriously funny stuff from some seriously funny people. So the next time life gets you down, Bunky, put on the headphones, play some comedy audio theater from Lodestone, and make everyone wonder what the heck you're laughing at!

The Apocalypse of Bill Lizard
Bills back, along with the 6-foot Pooka Cyril, and he's caught up in yet another mind-bending trans-dimensional mystery. It may seem to be another missing persons case, but this case hinges on the most imortant of metaphysical questions -- like can Bill wear his two-tone shoes in heaven? (2 CD set)
Also: Tread Softly Bill Lizard (2 CD set)

This American Life: Lies Sissies and Fiascoes
Nothing is as funny as real life, especially when viewed the ironic sesibilities of WBEZ radio's Ira Glass and his cast of contributors. This collection of some of the best stories from This American Life features the story of a performance of Peter Pan gone horribly awry, the apology line, and Christmas Freud.
Also: This American Life: Crimebusters & Crossed Wires (2 CD Set)

Firesign Theatre

Firesign TheatreHatched during the Summer of Love (that's 1967 for you kiddies), The Firesign Theater became America's premiere counterculture comedy group, and fixtures on early FM radio as well as on the turntables (remember those) of every self-respecting hippie (or those who wish they were). Well, they're back, they're bad, and they'll make you laugh your eyeballs right out of your hat. We love 'em so much, we gave them a "Firesign Theatre Page" all to themselves.

Buddy Shell: Metaphysical Private Investigator (2 CD set)
Featuring Firesign Theatre's David Ossman and Phil Proctor, this live performance playfully sends up detective dramas as Buddy, and his psychic sidekick solve the case of "That Old Black Magick"
